As I get older, Christmas seems to sneak up on me more than when I was young and energetic. December still has the same number of days; all that has really changed is me. I did a few simple decorations, shopped a little (mostly online) and participated in the program at church.

This year we’re having a simple dinner of baked ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, brussels sprouts, glazed carrots, rolls, a simple salad and hopefully pie.

I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas.

      Hi Carla,
I totally understand about Christmas sneaking up on you as you get older.
I have been super busy canning food so days have been flying by.
I might make a few Christmas goodies to take to my youngest daughter’s
house since we get together on Christmas morning.
I decorated a ceiling fan since decided not to deal with cats climbing
      the tree this year lol
I put up a few other lights and don’t really care if anyone outdoors
sees them. It’s more for me. I just enjoy the lights and the Christmas
      music.
I didn’t do a lot of shopping with funds being tight but sent out Christmas
cards to as many family/friends as I could, giving the 2 grandkids close here
a little money in a card, my grand daughter’s roommate a hand made soap and my
daughter and son in law a gift card. It’s uncertain if my kiddos from out of state
and ones that live in another town close here will come to get together. Sometimes
we meet for a breakfast or something and I get to see some of the younger grandkids
I don’t get to see often from Missouri.
Your simple Christmas dinner sounds wonderful and delicious!
I hope you have a very blessed Christmas and enjoy family time as
      you enjoy celebrating Christ.
I’ll be writing a post here tonight and hope to get it published before
      the night is over lol
Take good care of you and thanks for connecting with me. It means a lot!
